Woman in Revelation 12:Church or the blessed Virgin Mary?

 Blessed Virgin Mary , The mother of Jesus Christ and of all Christians


The woman in the book of Revelation to many protestant Churches is the Churc but to the Catholic Church it is the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Revelation 12 1-5 reads "Then a great and mysterious sight appeared in the sky; There was a woman ; whose dress was the sun and who had the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her headf....................Then she gave birth to a Son , who will rule over all nations with an Iron rod......."


From every indications the son is Christ our Saviour Matt 28;18 All power is given to me in heaven and on earth...."

 If Jesus is the Son  can we call the Church the mother of Jesus ? Definitely not. The Church is the brain Child of Jesus Matt 16 13-18 "..........You are Peter and upon this rock I will build My Church.

The Mother of Jesus is the Blessed virgin Mary .
In Lc 1,41-42 the Holy spiriut through Elizabeth proclaims her as the most blessed among all women.
The same Holy Spirit through mary in Lc 1,41-42  " .....From now onward all nations shall call me blessed."

Revelation 12,1-5 only confirms this proclamation.

Mary is mother of the Church 


Christ is the Son of the blessed virgin Mary. , The Church is the Body of Christ;Ephesians 1,22-23. Christ is the head of the Church and we Christians are part of His body.
Gal 3; 26 For in christ Jesus you are all Children of God through faith.

Christ is the Son of The Blessed Virgin Mary and the Church is the Body of Christ Logically we Christians share the maternity of Jesus in Mary. 
This is what Jesus did on the Cross Jn 19, 26-27Jesus saw His mother and the disciple he loved standing there; so He said to His Mother "He is your son" and then he said to the disciple "She is your mother" 

John represented all Christians under the Cross . The book of Revelation confirms it in Revelation 12,17 The dragon was furious about the woman and went off to fight against the rest of her descendants , all those who obey God,s commandements and are faithfull to the truth revealed by Christ.

All Christians whether protestants or Catholic Should know that Mary is the mother of all Christians and Should give her the honour She deserves as our mother.
